We are going to interview our colleague Mercedes García, responsible of the online channel, to know her better and to know about her experience in the company.
- For those who do not know you, how would you describe yourself?
I consider myself a hard-working, happy and positive person, in some aspects impulsive, but maybe this is one of the details that helps me most in the day-to-day life. I do not usually give up on the first attempt, neither on the second, and on the third I think a lot about it before giving up. Without a doubt, persistence characterizes me in all areas.
- Could you give us an overview of your business career from the beginning to nowadays?
My labour trajectory has always moved into the administrative area, starting in a telecommunications company and collaborating in different departments during 11 years. This helped me to acquire more knowledge in different channels and become more polyvalent in order to be able to perform better in my working life.
I started in Fagor Electrónica in 2016, collaborating in the administration department for almost 1 year. Then, they decided to make space for me (it was clear that I haven’t had waged enough war…) in the sales department, to start the online sales project, which I think still plays and important role within the company today. During my labour trajectory I had never done commercial work before, but my job offering fleet management solutions, in a remote way, has helped me a lot to understand the needs and the way people act in a different way. When you do not have a gesture or some detail that makes you appreciate a behaviour or the interest generated during a conversation, the tone of the voice becomes a priority value when getting to know the customer in a first contact.
- What is your biggest achievement in the position you hold?
My biggest achievement has not been only my merit. Today, if it hadn´t been for the collaboration of the entire team that made up Fagor Electrónica, the online channel would not have been able to come to fruition. The fruits have been harvested after the daily sowing.
- How is the working environment with your colleagues in the company?
You can´t ask for more. Having a good working environment is to gain in health and the truth is that we are like a big family. We always try to help each other, both inside and outside of work. Bad days can come and go, I´m not going to tell you that everything is wonderful, many times it makes you want to put someone in the cage of the lions but the important thing is the constant communication between all of us and to support us as the great team that we are.
- What do you like to do in your free time?
The truth is that there are many people who do not believe me, because of how I am in the working environment, but sometimes I like to stay still and calm on my sofa, watching good series. I like to have walks, listen to music and do some sport to disconnect and expel the day-to-day stress… It has to come out somewhere!
